CoClimate’s Bureau of Emerging Practices program uses a foresight lens to interpret, describe, and imagine the future of work for different groups of people and what it means for the shape of everyday life. We are assembling images and descriptions of skills, competencies, and practices in order to envision the future of work and what it means in the transition zone of climate change. We also seek to add context for these skills and practices by showing what they mean for the people who will use them. Vivid metaphors, new genres, and graphic examples will help tell that story. We are also aiming to explore how material constraints such as the environment, food, and infrastructure will drive meaningful social gain, personal improvement, and other values that people care about.
